The annual John Con O’ Sullivan memorial darts tournament took place in Bernard Harrington’s Bar in Glengarriff on St Stephens day. A large crowd attended the event, that was first held in 2011. 74 players took part in the competition which was sponsored by The Eccles Hotel. In the final the Noel O’ Sullivan and Dan Crowley defeated Daire Hayes and Declan O’ Shea. This was Noel’s third time being on the winning team. In the under 18 competition Oran Sullivan defeated Donagh O’ Sulivan. Thank you to the many sponsors for supporting the event and to William O’ Sullivan and Stephen O’ Sullivan for organising the event and to all those who helped out on the day.
Adrigole GAA are again taking part in the “Ireland Lights up “ initiative which began last week with a large crowd taking part. This encourages GAA clubs across the 32 counties to turn on their floodlights and open their walking tracks so their community can come together to walk and talk in a safe environment during the dark winter evenings. Adrigole GAA are hosting the “Ireland Lights up “ walking initiative from Thursday January 9 th at 7pm for 6 weeks. The club will also be taking part in the every step challenge, and those wishing to take part can do so, by downloading the My Life by Irish life app and selecting Adrigole GAA Healthy Club. Thank you to all those who have already signed up and don’t forget, its not too late to do so.
Tickets for the Adrigole GAA monthly club draw are now on sale for 2025. Tickets are again €25 and with 12 monthly draws taking place along with a Christmas bonus draw. The draw, which started in GAA centenary year of 1984 has provided much needed funding to Adrigole GAA over the years in both the day to day running costs of the club, and the capital investment the clubs has made throughout the years in improving the facilities in the club.
