Adrigole G.A.A is once again running our annual Duck Race Festival this year. It will take place over the August bank holiday weekend 2016. We are delighted to once again host the event at the base of the beautiful Hungry Hill on the grounds of Hungry Hill Lodge and Camp Site where there will be a fully licenced Marquee. A varied programme of events will run right through from Thursday July 28th starting with a Céilidh/Barn Dance up until Sunday July 3st with our Family Fun Day. Of course the highlight of the weekend will be the annual Duck race, closely followed by the Baa-ra sheep racing, both taking place on Sunday.
Following on from the success of our Tag Rugby event from 2015 we are delighted to announce the continuation of “The Marine Harvest” Annual Adrigole Tag Rugby Extravaganza! This year the tournament will be expanded to accommodate extra teams. This tournament will take place on Saturday July 30th and all teams are welcome. Registration forms are available by contacting Sean 0879568363 or Paul 0863561869. Please register your team as early as possible to avoid disappointment. It promises to be great craic with plenty of refreshments available pre and post-match!
There will be live music every night from Thursday right through to Sunday where there will be music from 3pm ‘till late. Highlights include the return of our Friday night comedy and music mash while Natural Gas will bring their own unique style to the weekend on Saturday night. John Twohig promises to have the Marquee rocking on Sunday night and many other acts, including Gerry Bruton, Eoghan Mcilhenny and Richie Halpin, will be performing right throughout the weekend.
Sunday promises to be a jam packed day of events. Starting from 1pm there will be a host of children’s activities followed by the annual Baa-raa races where you will see sheep reach record heights as they steeplechase their way around the circuit. A vintage car and tractor run will also take place travelling up to the top of the majestic Healy Pass. This is all before the main event, the 2016 Duck Race.
There will be plenty food and refreshments on site that offer a little something for everyone and it promises to be a fun filled weekend with something for all the family.
